Friday, January 24, around 9:40 p.m., while deaths on the Landes roads reached a sad record in 2024, the police multiply controls on the roads. For this, the Alpine of the quick team of the gendarmerie carried out a check on the A64 motorway near the town of Briscous on a portion of road limited to 110 km/h. Very quickly, the gendarmes of the departmental road safety squadron (EDSR) flashed an Audi sedan type car at 230 km/h, more than twice the maximum authorized. After several kilometers of prosecution, the gendarmes were able to arrest the driver, aged 37 and domiciled in the town of Ondres. To worsen his case, he was rolling under the influence of alcohol. The soldiers immediately relying their driving license and the car was placed in administrative pounds. The driver will have to answer for his acts before justice.
