The exchange of books for the library is done in Bayssan

Twice a year, the media libraries and media libraries of Hérault exchange books with the departmental media library, located at the Bayssan estate for Minervois. This is usually done with the Bibliobus which, loaded with recent books, passes through the communes.

Minerve presents a constraint: its streets are too narrow to properly accommodate the Bookmobile! So it is the librarians who, for many years, have been going to Bayssan to choose books. This time, 250 were returned, the oldest, replaced by the same number of recent books. It was in the presence of Carine, the reference librarian for Minervois, that the exchange took place and the new books were chosen by Anne and Jean-Michel. “It’s a magical moment of discovery for those who love books, and the choice is made according to the preferences of our readers”they say. “As a general rule, libraries alternate an on-site exchange with a bookmobile exchange. The on-site selection is of interest to more and more libraries because there are more new items than in the bookmobile and the choice is wider”comments Carine.
