Dakar, Jan 26 (APS) – Senegal will be part of hat 1 of the draw for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (CAN), according to the measures taken by the Confederation of African Football (CAN) as a prelude to this exercise scheduled for Monday in Rabat.
CAN 2025 will be held from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
The draw for the competition will take place on Monday January 27, in the Moroccan capital.
The top seed status was granted to six countries: Ivory Coast, which is the reigning African champion, Morocco, which was designated the organizing country of CAN 2025, Nigeria, vice-champion of Africa title, Senegal, Algeria and Egypt.
These six teams will therefore constitute hat 1, the second including Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Burkina Faso.
-Hat 3 brings together Angola, Gabon, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia and Benin. Mozambique, Comoros, Sudan, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Botswana are grouped in hat 4.
Six groups of four teams each will be formed during the draw.
