Storm Herminia has affected a large part of western France since the beginning of the morning, this Sunday, January 26, 2025. Heavy rain and strong winds have disrupted rail and road traffic in the affected regions.
Five departments are still on orange alert for flooding on Sunday evening according to the latest Météo France bulletin: Calvados, Orne, Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire and Ille-et-Vilaine.
This last department is particularly affected by depression. Dozens of homes, businesses and businesses are flooded, according to our colleagues at West France. A crisis unit was opened on Saturday evening and residents had to be evacuated from their homes.
Morbihan has been placed on orange alert for rain and flooding.
Finally, three departments are on orange alert for wind: Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées and Rhône. Of “violent gusts” can also be observed on the Breton coasts.

On Monday, Calvados, Orne, Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire and Ille-et-Vilaine will remain on orange alert for floods. Just like the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Hautes-Pyrénées and the Rhône which will have to keep an eye on strong gusts of wind.
Météo-France also announces risks of wave-submersion for the departments of Finistère and Morbihan.
The Hautes-Alpes are concerned by orange vigilance for avalanche risks.
