Le Figaro.- This Sunday ends the truce between Hezbollah and Israel. However, the Israeli army has announced to remain in South Lebanon beyond that date. What to remember from these two months of ceasefire?
Fabrice Balanche. – The Lebanese army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Finul) are deployed in southern Lebanon and Hezbollah left the area at least officially. The fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria has shown Iran's major defeat in the region. Hezbollah cannot afford to stay in South Lebanon, especially since it no longer benefits from Iranian military support. Staying would have been suicidal for the organization.
