In Ille-et-Vilaine, flood rivers, cut roads and evacuated inhabitants

Seven municipalities in the department have activated the municipal safeguard plan.

Very important floods were noted in Brittany on Sunday, January 26 due to the strong precipitation. Ille-et-Vilaine is particularly affected. Seven municipalities in the department have activated the municipal safeguard plan: Rennes, Betton, Guichen, Bruz, Pacé, Noyal-Châtillon and Guipry-Messac. Crisis cells are set up to try to manage the situation.

Regarding the rivers of Ille-et-Vilaine: the furniture, the ille, the cuttlefish and the ugly upstream overflow. Oust and ugly downstream are in yellow vigilance. In Rennes, the level of the Ille and Rance canal is very high, the lock of the Saint-Martin canal underwater.

Residents were evacuated, in Rennes. Two gymnasiums were opened to welcome them: Constant Véron, in the Bourg l'Évêque district and Jules Isaac in La Bellangerais. A call center has been set up.

Under these conditions, several roads are cut to traffic, in particular the RN 24. The axis is prohibited in the direction reindeer to Mordelles. A deviation is in place. As for the situation on the rails, the SNCF has removed the trains between Rennes and Saint-Malo, since Saturday evening. It is also necessary to expect slowdowns between Rennes and Saint -Brieuc and on the Rennes – Vannes line.

Consequences also at sea. In Morbihan, the rotations of Breizh Go Océane between Quiberon and Belle-Île and the islands of Houat and Hoëdic are canceled on Sunday afternoon, with probable disturbances still on Monday.
