What is there to discover between Nemours and Montigny-sur-Loing, along the Loing river?

At the Cité Scolaire stop, the Île-de-France prehistory museum brings us closer to our distant ancestors. This exceptional site is located at the foot of a sandstone massif, not far from the Fontainebleau forest. The dense vegetation immediately plunges the walker into the world of hunter-gatherers with some well-thought-out staging.

Caché, a large raw concrete building built by a disciple of Le Corbusier, offers a collection which traces the journey of the first men. Fossilized mammoth remains, flint, Carolingian boats and other finds have spanned the ages to tell your story.

At Eglise Nemours, a few centuries later, one of the last town castles in the region was built. Built around the 12th century, it has everything of a medieval building even if it hides within it a very modern museum.

Here, the stone walls respond to local archaeological pieces. Tapestries and old engravings mingle with graphic arts to which are added temporary exhibitions.

We take the bus again for the last stop in the middle of nature. At the Place Parodi terminus, you are a few meters from the Plaine de Sorques, a protected area and a haven of peace for animals. A place particularly popular with wildlife photographers who can take advantage of a large hut hidden among the trees.
