After the victory of the Flammes Carolo on the floor of La Roche Vendée this Friday, there was suspense in LBWL this Saturday evening for the continuation and the end of the 14th day of the regular season.
50 minutes of play during Basket Landes – Charnay
In Tarbes, Bourges won on a basket from the native of… Tarbes Pauline Astier (1.79 m, 22 years old) 7 seconds from the end. This success was complicated to achieve for the Tango (12 assists for 17 lost balls) who remain at the top of the championship (12 victories and 2 defeats) ahead of the Flammes Carrolo (10 victories and 4 defeats). But it was even more complicated for Angers (9 wins and 5 losses) and Basket Landes (8 wins and 6 losses) who had to play overtime. UFAB 49 nevertheless showed great resources after Carla Leite's equalizer (17 points) 4 seconds from the end. The Ameryst Alston team (27 points in 43 minutes) made up the difference in 5 additional minutes.
For Basket Landes, it took not 5 but 10 additional minutes against Charnay. If Luisa Geiselsoder, at the end of the fourth quarter, then Myriam Djekoundade, at the end of the first overtime, missed the 3-point victory, the locals took off in overtime, particularly after a 3-point by Destiny Slocum to give them a 7-point lead (73-66). The latter scored 22 points, 2 less than her colleague from the back line Leila Lacan (24 points).
-Lattes-Montpellier bounces back, Landerneau finishes strong in the duel of fear
Two weeks after its rout at Landerneau, Lattes-Montpellier (9 wins and 5 losses) wanted to get back in the championship. It’s done after its big victory against ASVEL Féminin (85-70). Elodie Naigre caught fire from 3-point range (21 points at 6/10 behind the arc) while Garance Rabot (22nd rating) further hurt her former club. For Landerneau, it was hot in Chartres. Angel Baker's LBB (25 points at 12/19) turned the tide in the last quarter (16-25) to achieve this vital success in the duel of the last two. The Finisteres (5 wins and 9 losses) are now three wins ahead of the promoted team (2 wins and 12 losses).
