Departmental wishes of the PS of Aude: between concerns and hopes

The ceremony took place this Thursday, January 23 in Conilhac-Corbières.

It was with honor that Martine Brunel, secretary of the local section of the Socialist Party in Conilhac-Corbières, hosted the departmental ceremony of greetings from the Socialist Party. A demonstration desired as close as possible to the activists by the secretary of the Aude federation Alix Soler-Alcaraz. A meeting, in the presence of numerous public officials including Hélène Sandragné, president of the Aude Departmental Council; Chloé Ridel, MEP, national spokesperson for the PS; departmental councilors Hervé Baro and Valérie Dumontet; Andre Hernandez; president of the Lézignan intercommunality; and Serge Brunel, mayor of Conilhac-Corbières. The federal secretary outlined the current situation which, according to him, reveals many concerns: “Our world and our country are in trouble. On the international level, it is the return of empires, it is the return of authoritarianism, of force rather than law, it is wild and exacerbated individualism, carried as a standard despite the terrible consequences on the collective plan or that of the planet “.

“Do not break the union of the left”

The speaker displayed the determination of his movement: “We, the supporters of equality, fraternity, solidarity, ecology, feminism, we will lead the fight against this form of fascism “.

The MEP took the floor to denounce, referring to the United States and Russia, “oligarchies; although different, they have in common a form of disrespect for democracy. They have a method: the balance of power rather than dialogue and the law. This is the complete opposite of what we, socialists, embody in Europe. Faced with the powers of money, we will not compromise. We will show resistance to make our values heard. We must stop this “.

The political leader emphasized with force and conviction the return to grace of her movement: “We are the second group in the European Parliament. We also doubled the size of our group in the National Assembly. We have become central in the French political game. This gives us new responsibilities. We must respond to the demand of the country which does not want new censorship. It is difficult because we must not break the union of the left. We need this collective strength to make our ideas win tomorrow.
