It was a home match for Argentinian president Javier Milei, late Friday afternoon on the side of Kloten, a stone’s throw from the airport. The figurehead of liberals from around the world was awarded the Röpke prize for civil society of the Liberal Institute in front of around 600 people acquired to its cause. His merit? Playing an “role of international pioneer in the fight against the sprawling state”.

The public was heated by music and introductory speeches castigating socialism, all to the State, attacks against freedoms, etc. Nothing very surprising but devilishly effective words in front of such an audience, which has repeatedly chanted: “Freedom, freedom!” Rock concert atmosphere, but in a jacket and tailor all the same.
