The Écurie du Verrou Campenoise association organized an event of old vehicles with the theme of the galette des rois at the castle in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude. For the first outing of the year, it was in a temperature of -7°C that the participants met at 9 a.m. at the Saint-Sébastien inn for very welcome coffee and croissants. Some cars had difficulty starting, but everything returned to normal and around 10 a.m., all these beautiful people were able to take the road towards Brenac, then Belvis to take the route des Sapins which took them into the gorges of Rébenty. Still in freezing cold but with beautiful sunshine, a coffee break allowed participants to warm up in the Col de Campérié parking lot. Departure around 11:30 a.m. towards Caudiès, the Escargot bridge, the Saint-Louis pass, Saint-Just-et-le-Bézu, Granés and finally the Saint-Ferriol village hall where the mayor Jean-Jacques Marty was waiting motorists to welcome them around a friendly drink.
After a good meal from the bag, a visit to Saint-Ferriol was essential and it was with wonder that the group took advantage of this beautiful village with its castle and its magnificent panoramic site. After this bucolic walk, the galette des rois was served at 4:30 p.m., it was then time to hit the road to return home. “Thank you to all the participants, some of whom this outing was a first and who will certainly return for future ones.
