An evolution to be closer to users

This experiment, part of the Anjou 2030 mandate project (proposition 33), aims to strengthen the reception of users and create a unique place to meet their needs. In the three Houses of the Department, residents will be able to come and get information and ask questions about all the community's actions and no longer just on areas related to social issues and solidarity.
The objective is to make the daily lives of the inhabitants of Maine-et- easier: they will thus benefit from a single entry point to ask all their questions and be directed to the right contacts. The goal is also to make these places a real space for exchanges and social diversity.
This innovation will also make it possible to strengthen the visibility of the Department, to address all the inhabitants of Maine-et-Loire and to strengthen the link between the actions of the community and the population. These places will also make it easier to meet with departmental elected officials.
For the moment, three territories have been designated for this experiment. In 2026, it is the sector of MDS East which will also be affected, following the rehabilitation of the building located in the Monplaisir district of Angers.

Supporting residents at every stage of their lives

The missions carried out by the Departments need to be better known and identified by the general public. A major player in solidarity policies, manager of roads and colleges, the Department acts in many areas, from housing to sport, including education as well as the preservation and enhancement of biodiversity.
Through the creation of these three Department Houses, the community reminds residents that it supports them at every stage of their lives.
In each House of the Department, teams of several dozen professionals will welcome them to answer their questions concerning:

  • Reception and health of children and parents
  • Adaptation and renovation of housing
  • Training and access to employment
  • Assistance for people with disabilities or seniors
  • Maintenance of roads and colleges
  • Protecting biodiversity
  • Cultural and sporting offerings for all

Active Houses in 2025

Offices of departmental elected officials will also be organized every month, to be as close as possible to residents. Cultural events, information days and awareness-raising activities will also be offered. Finally, advisors from the Departmental House of Autonomy (MDA) will offer hotlines in the MDDs, which will avoid the people concerned having to go to Angers to obtain information or compile a file.

The Houses of the Department

  • A single gateway to finding answers to questions
  • Better orientation and time saving
  • New services to make procedures and daily lives easier for residents
  • Meetings with departmental elected officials

For Florence Dabin, the President of the Department, “These Departmental Houses will significantly expand the range of services offered by the Departmental Solidarity Houses, which are already very active in the daily lives of residents. There are now many other areas that will be covered by our professionals, to encourage exchanges between the public and offer a single entry point for all residents. We are strengthening our proximity to all those who live in Maine-et-Loire. We thought of this experiment as a way to re-examine our practices.”
