Who did the media and players vote for? • USA

To avoid a “Zaza Pachulia”, the NBA has for several years been weighting fan votes for the All-Star Game with votes from the media and players. The opportunity to see that the hierarchies are a little different.

In the East, the “frontcourt” of the incumbents was unanimous since Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum et Karl-Anthony Towns finished in the first three places in all three panels.

On the “backcourt” of the East, LaMelo Ball was first among fans, but only third among players and seventh among journalists. He was therefore overtaken by Donovan Mitchell et Jalen Brunson and will have to wait to see if the coaches select him among the replacements for the All-Star game.

Unanimity also on the “backcourt” of the West since Shai Gilgeous-Alexander et Stephen Curry finished in the first two places among fans, journalists and fans.

On the Western frontcourt, however, it was undecided. Nikola Jokic certainly dominated all the votes, but it is Victor Wembanyama who finished second among journalists, while he was fourth among fans and players. Enough to leave him in fourth place in the weighted ranking, behind LeBron James et Kevin Durant.
