Mayotte: Orange designs a safetytruck!

announces the deployment of its new SafetyTruck. The latter's mission is to guarantee ” Connectivity for everyone, even in the most complex situations ».

This “innovative” truck, developed at the start of the year in Mayotte in partnership with Orange Innovationoffers free and nomadic Wi-Fi access, throughout the archipelago with a range of 2 days without recharging thanks to solar batteries.

The SafetyTruck is equipped with a satellite internet system, allowing intelligent bandwidth management for several simultaneous users.

Piloted by a team of orange technicians, the Safetytruck will circulate through different municipalities of the island for:

  • Provide free Wi-Fi access Where connectivity is lacking;
  • Press the interventions of the French Red Crosshelping to reconnect populations in difficulty;
  • Offer additional servicessuch as recharge of mobile devices batteries;
  • Facilitate access to medical and administrative servicesespecially thanks to secure teleconsultation with health professionals.

The route of SafetyTruck will be adjusted according to local priorities, with strategic stops defined according to the needs of the population. The volunteer teams of the Red Cross or the Apprentices of Auteuil will guide the inhabitants close to the stop point, towards the system. Medical meetings may be planned according to the skills available and the teleconsultation agreements.
