43.1 billion export dirhams in 2024

The textile and leather sector in Morocco recorded exceptional growth in 2024, with an export turnover of 43.1 billion dirhams and the creation of more than 60,260 declared jobs. These figures were announced by Taha Ghazi, director of the textile and leather sector within the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in an official publication on the LinkedIn account of the ministry.

According to Taha Ghazi, Morocco has established itself as a world production hub in textiles and leather, attracting massive foreign investments, especially from China, with an investment volume of 2.5 billion dirhams and the creation of more than 10,000 jobs. This success is explained by the political stability and the economic opening of the kingdom, which have made it possible to conquer new international markets.

In its publication, M, Taha Ghazi stressed that Morocco, thanks to its stable and attractive business environment, has been able to position itself as a privileged partner for foreign investors. The textile and leather sector benefited from this dynamic, thus strengthening its place on the international scene. Structural reforms and tax incentives have also played a decisive role in this growth.

Sustainability: the challenge of tomorrow

If the sector displays impressive performance, Taha Ghazi insisted on the size challenge to be met: strengthening its sustainability and complying with international standards in terms of sustainable development. This transition is essential to maintain the competitiveness of the sector and meet the expectations of the global markets, more and more demanding in terms of environmental and social responsibility.
