It is in an electric atmosphere that the population of Yverdon will have to elect, on February 9, its seventh municipal council. A little over three months after the death of the elected socialist Jean-Claude Ruchet, it is time for the executive to be able to meet again in its entirety. While some voices on the left were raised to demand a single candidacy given the circumstances, four personalities ultimately submitted their applications on time.
If this final square guarantees a democratic choice, it is an understatement to say that it also offers its share of surprises. Between the candidacy of Ruben Ramchurn, the well-known troublemaker of the city, and that of Mergim Dibrani, a former member of the PS forced to resign after having made remarks deemed defamatory against the municipal member of his group Brenda Tuosto, certain contenders have profiles divisive to say the least.
