Ornithological outing for Nature Nièvre

Marzy. Ornithological outing for Nature Nièvre. As for more than forty years, the Nature Nièvre association recently organized an ornithological outing in the south-east of the department. An outing which was part of the Wetlands count, an annual international census of waterbirds in mid-January.

Around fifteen Marzyat members participated in this day. They were able to observe a multitude of anatidae (waterbirds) such as teal, pochard, tufted duck, great crested and little grebe, coot, birds observed for the most part regularly in winter. Among the species that are out of the ordinary, let us mention the presence of two goosanders.

Wildlife

Nature Nièvre is an association whose head office is in Marzy. Made up entirely of volunteers, its aim is to improve knowledge, study and safeguard wildlife and the environments on which it depends, work to defend these different wild species and learn to know them better.

This is why it organizes a multitude of nature outings (mostly on Sundays) with various themes depending on the season. The opportunity for everyone to learn or improve their knowledge in botany, ornithology, insects (butterflies and dragonflies, etc.). In a word, to discover the environment around us, to participate in national events like the Nature Festival, the Night of the Owl, or local ones like Festigrues and also to learn how to build nest boxes.

“All our meetings take place in conviviality and simplicity,” emphasizes Nature Nièvre. “Future participants are just asked to bring a picnic if necessary. »
