The driver of a semi-trailer fell asleep at the wheel and found himself going the wrong way on Highway 20, in Montérégie, Thursday morning.

The police were called to intervene at 8 a.m. near Saint-Liboire.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the vehicle crossed the median which separates Highway 20 when its driver fell asleep, which caused him to drive in the opposite direction of traffic.

The vehicle did not collide with anything, nor did it collide with any other object or person. The police escorted the driver so that he returned to the right direction, according to the SQ.

The SQ could not confirm whether a ticket was given to the driver.
