The revelations of the three hostages released this weekend – Romi Gonen, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher – confirm the existence of a real Hamas-UNRWA complex. After 471 days of captivity, their testimonies establish that the UN agency made its facilities available to terrorists, including in “humanitarian zones” supposed to protect civilians.
This criminal symbiosis revolves around three axes:
1. Shared infrastructure
– Use of UNRWA schools as operational bases
– Detention of hostages in UN buildings
– Conversion of “refugee camps” into Hamas fortress towns
2. Shared staff
– More than 10% of educational executives who are members of Hamas/Islamic Jihad
– Participation of UNRWA employees in the October 7 massacre
– Deliberate recruitment of active terrorists
3. Institutional protection
– UN immunity exploited by Hamas
– Artificial maintenance of refugee status over four generations
– Misappropriation of international funds
Faced with this deadly fusion between terrorism and humanitarianism, Israel's response combines symbolic justice and efficiency: the conversion of the UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem into 1,440 housing units, then the imminent banning of the agency.
Former general commissioners Krähenbühl and Lazzarini must now answer before a special court for:
– Complicity in crimes against humanity
– Organization of an integrated criminal system
– Active protection of a terrorist organization
– Massive misappropriation of international aid
