This is an operation carried out “for several months” according to the prefecture. In the department, the police have certain vehicles in their sights… Many large-scale operations have been implemented recently.

The latest is the one organized on Wednesday January 22, 2025 at the exit of the Carémeau Hospital Center in Nîmes. Around 2:00 p.m., the National Police, under the supervision of Marie-Charlotte Euvrardchief of staff of the prefect of Gard, controlled taxis et VTC (passenger car with driver) “with the aim of verifying compliance with the rules of competition and the regulation of these professions, but also to guarantee the protection of the people transported”.

In 2024, Gard law enforcement in conjunction with state services will carry out nearly 100 checks of this type.
