The AfD, known for its extremist positions and its flirtation with neo-Nazi ideas, is currently enjoying a worrying rise in power. Polls credit the party with nearly 20% of voting intentionsplacing him in second position behind the Conservatives.

The ZPS is not its first success. This satirical collective had already made waves in 2017, by installing a miniature replica of the Holocaust memorial in front of the home of an AfD executive.

With this action targeting Tesla, they are attacking a major symbol: the Grünheide factory, inaugurated in 2022, is the electric vehicle manufacturer's only European gigafactory. It represents a strategic pillar for Musk, whose political and economic ambitions are intertwined in increasingly troubling ways.
