“They are smart at the PS, they only present consensual texts. It forces us to support them,” says a member of the presidential camp. A week after their choice not to vote for censure of the Bayrou government, the socialist deputies will once again be at the center of the game, this Thursday, January 23, in the hemicycle. From 9 a.m. to midnight, they will present eight texts of concrete measures, as part of their parliamentary initiative day (their parliamentary niche). And they are hopeful of getting four or five adopted.
“During the period, by focusing on the very daily problems of our compatriots, we are trying to restore the nobility of parliamentary work,” underlines PS deputy Philippe Brun. “We want to demonstrate our ability to bring victories to the French,” summarizes the president of the PS group Boris Vallaud.
