There were exceptionally nine clubs called for the draw for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de l'Indre René-Schoen, this Wednesday, at the Fournil Saint-André de la Margotière, whose boss, Jean-Luc Félix, knows what he is up to. speaks since he won the Trophy twice with Berri against La Châtre in 1986 (1-0), with Argenton against Issoudun in 1996 (2-1). Nine clubs, because the 8e final between Montgivray (R3) and Poinçonnet (R3) has still not been able to be played due to weather conditions. The meeting is scheduled for February 16.
The two professional players from Berrichonne, Ferris N'Goma and Mathis Clairicia, had a lucky hand by making an attractive draw.
Chabris (D2) – Déols (R1)
David Touchard (president of Chabris) : “This is the draw that the players were waiting for and it is with undisguised pleasure that we will welcome Déols. It will be a great football festival in Chabris and the objective will be to attract as many people as possible. The Chabris club is very attached to the Coupe de l'Indre with three semi-finals to its credit. Each time we were eliminated by the smallest of margins and even once on penalties against Saint-Christophe. Against Déols, we will have nothing to lose. As the higher level clubs are doing quite well for us so why not? »
Francis Gautron (Manager of Déols) : “We are going to meet a Chabris team which is playing in D2. I suspect it will be a great party for them. It will be a complicated match on a small pitch against a team who will play in front of a crowd fully committed to their cause and who will have nothing to lose. Even if the championship remains our priority, we will play this match fully and we will respect an opponent who is not at this stage of the competition by chance. »
Le Blanc (R3) – Montgivray (R3) or Le Poinçonnet (R3)
Alexandre Bernot (president of Blanc) : “I am very satisfied with playing at home, without preferences between the two possible opponents. We are having a good season so far, being leader of R3. The rise to R2 and a Coupe de l'Indre final would be great even if the objective remains the accession of the D3 reserve to D2. »
Vincent Chenot (president of Poinçonnet) : “As usual this season in the cup, we will travel if we pass Montgivray. Coupe de France, Indre or Center (except 8e final against Le Moulon on February 2), we are still away. If we pass Montgivray, winning at the Blanc would be a small feat, the Blancois are for me the favorite of the event. »
Christine Lory (wife of the president of Montgivray) : “If we get past Le Poinçonnet, it will be very hard for Le Blanc who has already beaten us in the championship (1-3). »
-Buzançais (R3) – Aigurande (D1)
Sylvain Bouilly (president of Buzançais) : “We are happy to receive. The cup remains a goal for the club in the same way as the championship. We remain on a good dynamic and we hope that it will continue in the cup. This match promises to be very open against a team that has a reputation for playing the ball well. »
Benoît Pradeau (Aigurande coach) : “We will try to get the club's third qualification in the semi-final after those lost against Diors (2014) and Berri (1979) whose goals were kept by a certain Thierry Schoen… We will not leave with the favors of the prediction against a good Buzançais team which is very complicated to maneuver at home and which is used to playing this type of tough match. We will have nothing to lose. For many of my players, this will be their first quarter-final. Suffice to say that it is an important match and one awaited by everyone. »
Villedieu (D1) – Saint-Christophe (D2)
Emmanuel Foucret (president of Villedieu) : “It’s a good draw, even if we are wary of Saint-Christophe, we receive one of the two Tom Thumb and we avoid the ogres. We are having a good season, symbolized by the NR Ball that we received this Thursday. We are rebuilding with young people and we are aiming to stay in the championship but if we can do even better…”
Christophe Philippe (leader of Saint-Christophe) : “It’s a great challenge. Too bad it's not our place but we'll avoid the big ones, that'll do it. »
