The right pillar of US Bressane Atonio Ulutuipalelei will join Colomiers Rugby in Pro D2 next summer. He is committed to the next two seasons.
Solid. At 27 years old, Atonio Ulutuipalelei is a massive pillar (1.86 m, 134 kg) rather “young” in the oval world. His rugby debut was late. After Racing 92 (at 20 years old, in hopes), Rennes (Fédérale 1), a few matches in Vannes (during the Covid period), Rennes (Nationale) then Bourg-en-Bresse (Nationale, 12 matches, 7 starts for the current season), he will therefore play under the Colomiers jersey, in Pro D2.
An endearing character
A few days ago, Richard Savey spoke of his pillar in a portrait that we dedicated to Atonio Ulutuipalelei. “ He still has some learning to do on the scrum even if he has progressed a lot since he has been there, confided manager Bressan. He is an essential player in our front eight. I wish him to be able to progress to the next level as soon as he can and feels ready. If it's with us, even better. He is an endearing character because of his background and his origins.”
-Endearing because of his background already! When leaving Wallis, he made a promise to his parents to sign a professional contract in mainland France. This promise kept, he continued to progress and will therefore play in the second French level next season. With – before this new challenge -, obviously the desire to end his purple adventure on a good note.
