RC Lens could soon complete a lucrative transfer with an MLS club. David Pereira da Costaa 24-year-old Portuguese left winger trained at the northern club, arouses the interest of Portland. According to information reported by L'Equipe this Monday, the American franchise has even already sent an offer close to 8M€ to secure the services of the player under contract until 2026.
A promising but little-used player
Professional background in 2020 at the time of flamboyant rise you RC Lens en Ligue 1, Pereira da Costa however, struggles to establish itself in the team that has become a top ranking reference. Since the start of the season, the Portuguese has only started 3 timesaccumulating only 462 minutes of play in all competitions. A starving playing time which could justify a departure, especially since the offer of Portland would represent great added value for Lens who had trained him since 2012.
A deal to be finalized to replenish the coffers
Estimated at 7M€ on the Transfermarkt website, Pereira da Costa would therefore constitute an interesting sale for RC Lens, in its desire to fill its coffers a little this winter. The northern club would also not be opposed to the departure of the left winger, even if the operation has yet to be finalized. One thing is certain, this potential transfer of 8M€ would be added to the other movements undertaken by Lens to strengthen itself financially during this winter transfer window.
A departure to bounce back?
Pour David Pereira da Costajoining MLS in Portland could represent the opportunity to relaunch your careers. At 24, the Portuguese would thus have a new challenge to flourish and gain playing time, far from the tough competition at the top French level. A win-win bet for all parties?
