The year 2024 marked a key milestone in the State's commitment to improving living conditions in the priority districts of (QPV). Thanks to increased mobilization of resources and actors, significant progress has been made in several essential areas.

A new priority geography

Since January 1, 2024, an update of the map of priority neighborhoods has made it possible to better take into account changing socio-economic realities. The department now has 17 districts spread across 13 municipalities, or 77,683 inhabitants concerned. Among the notable adjustments, the creation of a large intercommunal district around La Grand-Combe, Les Salles du Gardon and Branoux-les-Taillades now brings together 4,100 inhabitants.

“Neighborhood 2030 Commitments”: a new framework for action

Developed from citizen consultations, the 2024-2030 city contracts were signed this year. These strategic documents define various priorities such as:

  • Improving the living environment and public facilities,
  • Preventing delinquency and strengthening public peace,
  • Support for employment and youth,
  • Promoting educational success and cultural and sporting activities.

An ambitious budget for targeted actions

With a total envelope of 3.3 million euros, nearly 700 projects were financed in 2024. The credits were distributed across various priority areas, including education (40% of funding), health, employment. , the living environment, and cultural and sporting activities.

The City Policy Grant (DPV), amounting to 4.5 million euros, made it possible to finance 16 projects, including the renovation of educational, sporting and social facilities in municipalities such as Nîmes, Alès, Bagnols -sur-Cèze and Saint-Gilles.

Specific measures to strengthen local impact

  • Educational Cities : Renewed to Nîmes and extended to new neighborhoods, this program mobilizes 880,000 euros to intensify educational support for young people aged 0 to 25.
  • Summer Quarters : 391,471 euros made it possible to organize summer activities for 3,000 children, promoting diversity and civic values.
  • Relay Adults and Social Mediation : With 98 adult relay positions and several mediation systems, the State supports social ties and access to rights in QPVs.

For 2025, ambitions remain high, with particular emphasis on education, employment and improving the living conditions of residents in priority neighborhoods.
