-It was the weekend of January 4th and 5th. Freezing rains appeared in Burgundy and surprised many drivers, mainly in Côte-d'Or. Traffic had been very difficult, if not impossible in certain sectors: portions of the A6 and the A38 had been closed, around fifty accidents, including one fatal, had been recorded in the space of a few hours.
This Wednesday, January 22, Météo France once again calls for the greatest caution. Two departments of Burgundy, Saône-et-Loire and Côte-d'Or, have been placed on “snow-ice” vigilance, as have the four departments of Franche-Comté. This vigilance is active from 3 a.m. until noon. The warm spell is then announced.
In detail, light rain should fall on the eastern part of Burgundy, particularly in the Dijon metropolitan area, during the late hours of the night and early morning. As the ground is frozen, the risk of icy conditions is high. A phenomenon of freezing rain cannot be ruled out either. We've talked about the roads, but be careful on the sidewalks too!
