It was one of the most festive moments of the awards season which took place at the Elysée Montmartre this Monday evening. The evening of the César Revelations brought together the thirty-two young shoots discovered during the year. The newbies were accompanied and their largely confirmed godmothers and godfathers such as Isabelle Huppert, Marion Cotillard or Sandrine Kiberlain.

“I am obviously delighted with the success of Love phewbut I hope with all things a César for my young performers,” confides Gilles Lellouche to 20 Minutes. He sponsors Malik Frikah while Mallory Wanecque had François Civil as godfather and climbed into his chair to be cheered by an enthusiastic crowd.

Beautiful moments shared

Generous sharing is the motto of this festive event since there are no stakes, no prizes being awarded that evening. The finalists who will compete will not be known until January 29. It was time for celebrations and gastronomy after seeing the magnificent black and white short film by Vanessa Filho, director of Consentbringing together all young talents around a message of freedom.

Among the competitors, we could recognize Abou Sangare, discovered in The Story of Souleymanevery elegant alongside Pierre Niney. Very happy to have finally obtained papers, the young man, who returned to his job as a mechanic, told us he wanted to pursue his career as an actor. Nina Mélo, on the arm of Jean-Pascal Zadi, beamed while talking about Black Tea who revealed it.

Looking forward to February 28

Better known, Pierre Lottin who triumphed in A fanfare and which we will soon find in God Save The Tuche seemed over the moon to be supported by Philippe Katerine. “I'm having fun like crazy and these Caesars are already a success for me,” he says. If he is not really a “revelation”, this magnificent actor fully deserves to be rewarded.

It is obviously too early to make serious predictions about the winners who will receive a César during the 50th edition of the ceremony which will be visible on February 28 live and unencrypted on Canal+ from 9 p.m. However, we can already say that French cinema has spoiled us with discoveries in 2024 and predict that we will often see many of the revelations of this great year again.
