Work to revegetate and strengthen the banks of the island of Cabessut in Cahors continues. Teams from the City of Cahors, supported by students from the Lycée des Territoires du Montat, carried out significant cleaning work by removing the branches of a tree that had fallen into the arm of the Lot and by pruning the trees obstructing the flow path. water. The next stages of the project include: Planting adapted vegetation with preferred local species to strengthen the banks and promote biodiversity. However, these young plants will require special watering and pruning care for several years. Managing invasive species, the teams will implement actions to limit the spread of American grapes and promote the development of local species. Development of a wooden path on a portion of the bank which will meet all the safety and ease of maintenance criteria. The work on the island of Cabessut is managed by the Lot Basin Territorial Public Establishment on behalf of the City of Cahors and aims to improve biodiversity, strengthen the banks and create a pleasant space for Cadurcians.
