The man of all records, Novak Djokovic, beaten in the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 2024, is back in the last four in Melbourne after his victory in the quarter-final clash against Carlos Alcaraz , beaten 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 after more than three and a half hours of fighting in the Rod Laver Arena.

Little by little, the poster becomes a new tennis classic. On one side, the dominant but aging Novak Djokovic, 24 Grand Slam victories. On the other, Carlos Alcaraz, the rising power. And, on the night of Tuesday January 21 to Wednesday January 22, the veteran reminded that he was the boss. After an intense three and a half hour fight against his younger brother, the Serb won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in front of an audience largely supportive of his cause.

The indestructible 37-year-old Serbian brushed aside a first strong opponent in his quest to become the most successful player in history in the four major world tennis tournaments (Australian Open, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon, US Open ). He currently shares the record with Australian legend Margaret Court (24 titles each).
