The cuddly toy of Evy, a 7-year-old girl, was stolen on Thursday January 16 from her mother's car in . The vehicle was found burned, “hidden in a wood”, the comforter inside.

Evy, 7 years old, “finds her smile a little again”. Last Friday, January 17, her mother Coralie shared on social networks a call for testimony, to find the beloved cuddly toy of her granddaughter suffering from autism. And the outcome of the story is rather positive.

As the mother explained in a Facebook post, her car was “very quickly found by the police this weekend”. But it had been set on fire and “hidden in a wood” in a town in Moselle. However: “miracle”, the cuddly toy was found still “intact” in the door.

The condition of the plush toy contrasts with that of the vehicle. On one side, charred seats, a melted dashboard and windows completely blackened by smoke. On the other, a small rabbit, slightly yellowed but generally preserved.

“Today, I have a little girl, 7 years old, who is smiling a little again, we have to clean Doudou (if you have any tips, we'll take them), she finds that he is dirty and that he smells bad… but he came home!” the mother wrote in a Facebook post.

The family touched by “kindness” and mobilization

In addition to “Doudou”, the mother was able to find two other stuffed animals in the door of her car. If she had a “hope that they would be found” after her call for testimony, Coralie “no longer believed it”.

The one who says she is “still in shock at the theft” of her car keys displays strong gratitude after being touched by a wave of support.

“To see that there are still human beings who are so caring and helpful, it warms my heart. And to see this awareness for my comforter but also for autism, this empathy… I no longer have the words” , she got excited on Facebook.

As for the legal consequences of this case, the thieves and arsonists are still at large. The mother wants to give the police time to do their job, but says she has “a few scores to settle” with the arsonists. At the same time, the mother will take steps with her insurance.
