: total closure of metro line 6 this Sunday

Bad news for road users ligne 6. After two partial traffic interruptions last fall, the RATP announces new disruptions on this busy metro line.

« In 2025, due to modernization work, work and closures are expected on metro line 6 » warns the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens on its website. So, what should you expect? Are these partial or total traffic interruptions? In the evening or during the day? We tell you everything.

Work resumed on January 6, with a ligne 6 entirely closed from 10 p.m., every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until February 12, 2025.

Traffic on the metro line 6 will also be completely discontinuedall day long, Sunday January 26. Another total closure of the line is announced for the day of Sunday June 15, 2025.

Several other disruptions are expected in 2025. Thus, line 6 will be partially closed three times between February 17 and May 25, 2025. In detail, train circulation will be interrupted from February 17 to 28, 2025 inclusiveor during the winter holidays, between the Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and La Motte Picquet-Grenelle stations. Then, April 12, 13 and May 18, 2025line 6 will be closed between Daumesnil and Nation stations. Finally, RATP announces a partial closure of line 6, between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and Trocadéro stations, April 26, 27 and May 25, 2025.

Ces modernization work should enable the continued deployment of new generation MP89 trains. “ The adaptation of the infrastructure to this new rolling stock and the modernization of the installations will be completed by 2026 with, on the one hand, the modification of the railway signaling installations in the Nation and Charles de Gaulle-Étoile zones and, on the other hand, online tests of the new train control system. These actions contribute to improving passenger service » explains the RATP.

Due to this work, the RATP recommends that travelers take alternative routes, such as the RER A and line 8. Furthermore, bus de substitution will circulate between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and La Motte Picquet-Grenelle then between Nation and Daumesnil during these partial closures. Line 6: the calendar of upcoming disruptions in 2025

  • From January 6 to February 12, 2025: the entire line will be closed from 10 p.m., every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (except Wednesday January 8, 2025)
  • Sundays January 26 and June 15, 2025: the entire line will be closed, throughout the day
  • From February 17 to 28, 2025 inclusive: the line will be closed, between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and La Motte Picquet-Grenelle stations
  • April 12, 13 and May 18, 2025: the line will be closed between Daumesnil and Nation stations
  • April 26, 27 and May 25, 2025: the line will be closed between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and Trocadéro stations
