The weeks follow one another but are not the same for Florian Féry. After reaching the Grail last weekend in Pontchâteau, where he won the blue-white-red jersey, the Bikeenergy School rider was not able to show it as he wanted this Sunday, in Benidorm, for the cyclo-cross World Cup. “I would have liked to show it in another way but that will be for later”regrets the one who only finished at the bottom of the Top 20 in Spain (see ranking). “I expected it, I had a long week, you have to know how to be less in shape some weekends to be better on others”.

As a result, the disappointment is quite limited. “As I expected, it softens, but it’s a long race. There’s not a lot of fun but you have to go through it to experience great emotions like last week”. It must be said that the conditions were diametrically opposed. “He's not Liévin with 1.8 kg in his guts, it's rare. It's not the same sensations with stones, bumps. Being in good shape, he must be really good but when you endure, It's not the best.”he noticed to his great dismay. Because very quickly, Florian Fery was fixed. “I didn't get a very good start. I wasn't in the mood, I was suffering, I couldn't impose my race”.

The French Junior Cyclo-cross Champion will happily prefer to spend his week on his own, rather than his Sunday. “On the day of the Championship, I received a lot of congratulatory messages, then I was at school so it was a return to reality, it avoids falling into euphoria. At school I was thinking about jersey, but otherwise I remained focused for the last three races”. Indeed, he still has two opportunities to shine the tricolor jersey, at Hoogerheide for the final round, then at the Liévin World Cup. “This week we will continue the training while recovering. Then it will be the week of the World Cup and there will be no excuses”.
