Did Elon Musk really give a Hitler salute in full view of the whole world on the day of Donald Trump's inauguration?
Elon Musk was one of the important figures at the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States Donald Trump who entrusted him with a strategic role. The billionaire was at all the last campaign meetings to put on a show.
The boss of X, SpaceX, and Tesla was on stage again this Monday, January 20 at the Capital One Arena in Washington where part of the inauguration festivities took place, moved inside due to the polar cold.
Elon Musk lets his full shadow slip, throwing up a Nazi salute at Trump’s inauguration. Media branding it an “odd gesture”. Be serious, that’s a full on Sieg Heil. pic.twitter.com/vlmQiZ8zTR

At the podium, Elon Musk happily thanked the voters. He became enthusiastic about the project of going to Mars. “I just want to say thank you for making this possible.”he declared before tapping his chest with his right arm then extending his arm upwards, a strange sign resembling a Nazi salute which he made twice. A sign immediately spotted by observers who shared this disturbing scene on the X network, wondering about its meaning. It was taken up by several international media as far as Israel where the billionaire was strongly criticized.
Others saw it rather as an awkward gesture of recognition to say that he was thanking from the bottom of his heart, when one touches his heart before extending his arm towards the crowd, a gesture which is often made with a closed fist. Elon Musk also ends his gesture by “thanking from the bottom of my heart” and placing his hand on his heart again.
Elon Musk himself denied the controversy by denouncing “a twisted blow”. “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The 'everyone is Hitler' attack is so outdated.”
