New phase of work at Carrefour Léonard: here is what is planned

Preparatory work for the renovation of the two E411 tunnels under the Léonard crossroads will begin this Monday evening on the Brussels ring road (R0), announces the Flemish Roads and Traffic Agency (Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer, AWV) .

The tunnel, which is located on level -1 of the Léonard intersection, just above the Brussels Ring tunnel (R0), will be closed every night between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. (8 a.m. on Saturday). Traffic on the E411 will be diverted via Groenendael and the Quatre Bras crossroads. Among the work carried out, cables will be moved and technical elements will be removed, such as lighting and markings for fire devices.

Starting in April or May, AWV teams will work day and night in the tunnel. Traffic towards Brussels on the E411 will then be on a single lane instead of two. The E411 and ring tunnels will be completely closed from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (until 8 a.m. on Saturdays) until the end of 2025. The slip road between the E411 and the ring for traffic coming from Waterloo towards Auderghem will also be closed in the evening and the night. The ramp in the other direction (Auderghem towards Waterloo) will remain open to traffic.
