Romilly Association Sportive (RAS) had arranged to meet its members at the Salle du Carré to celebrate the new year, Tuesday January 7, 2025.
President Caroline Sabourin, surrounded by her board of directors, welcomed around fifty people, an increasing participation which delighted her.
Among the guests, the mayor of the town Jean-Luc Rometfounder of the association in 1999, his deputy Xavier Chivot, but also the mayor of Pont-Saint-Pierre Valérie Lavigne, who came as vice-president of the Lyons Andelle Community of Communes in particular in charge of associative and sports policy .
Already 335 members and 11 sections
Caroline Sabourin first presented the speakers before providing an update on the start of this 26th season, which began on September 9, 2024.
“To date, we have 335 members, spread over nineteen courses of one hour, one and a half or two hours depending on the activity, i.e. an offer of 23 hours per week, taught by eleven qualified speakers. »
The Covid period is therefore forgotten, RAS having returned to its peak of attendance, the association notably provided a total of 764 hours over the 2023-2024 season.
“And we still have a few people joining us,” said the president.
At the start of summer 2024, the association had finished the season with 336 members, so the current one should see increased participation. Response on Friday September 19, 2025 during the annual general meeting.
-Zumba did not appeal
For this 26th season, RAS has reorganized the yoga section – Hatha-yoga. “We now offer two classes, Monday with Carole Gourdain (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and always Friday morning (10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) with Danielle Château. »
In September, RAS opened its 12th section, zumba, which did not meet with the expected success. “Unfortunately we had to close it at the end of November because we only had 6 people registered.”
Finally, Caroline Sabourin honored Jean-Charles Enos, who was a member of the board of directors and responsible for the badminton section, who “regained his freedom after twenty years of good and loyal service”, by giving him a gift from RAS. Sébastien Houlière took over.
After recalling the events of the year (cake, lottery, assembly, etc.) Caroline Sabourin invited everyone to the big lottery weekend of March 22 and 23, an event which had generated some €1,800 in profit in 2024. “Those who don’t want to play, they can also make cakes and pastries for the refreshment bar,” she said with a smile.
“Romilly is a sporting town”
Speaking, Jean-Luc Romet first praised “the sacred work carried out by the president and the entire RAS team”, which provides proof that “Romilly is a sporting city, and which will be even more so plus July 8, 2025, when the Tour de France ».
Three weeks earlier, on Sunday June 15, 2025, it was Bicycle Day which will be organized by Romilly-sur-Andelle as recalled by Valérie Lavigne, before specifying the dates of the events organized by the comcom: the day of sport and associations on September 6 and the Sports Laureates on October 19 in Charleval.
While the participants were enjoying the Galette des Rois, the draw to win one of five €30 checks (to finance part of the membership to one of the activities) was carried out. Won: Jean-François Hue, Nadine Passos Da Silva, Françoise Mansuy, Jackie Ibrelisle and Monique Masselin.
