Chausson Matériaux is continuing its external growth strategy. After having acquired 80 Réseau Pro agencies in 2013, then having taken over 105 & Matériaux points of sale at the end of 2020, the more than century-old group controlled and managed by Pierre-Georges and Philippe Chausson has just announced this Monday, January 20, with Hayfin “in exclusive negotiations with a view to acquiring […] of the French activities of the Frans Bonhomme group » directed since last fall by Loïc Derrien.

Thanks to this operation, the family buyer based near (Haute-Garonne) will have a network of more than 340 specialized points of sale in addition to its approximately 470 agencies located throughout the territory.

According to the press release, “Chausson Matériaux intends to strengthen its presence in strategic segments and further diversify the end markets addressed. This acquisition will also allow Frans Bonhomme to continue its development in its target market segments”.

On the other hand, the activity of Frans Bonhomme Spain “will remain autonomous and will continue its rapid development on the Iberian Peninsula”. For the record, Frans Bonhomme first set foot in Spain by purchasing a Catalan wholesaler in 2004: Subministres a Obres i Terrenys (SOT). In this country where it currently has around thirty agencies, the distributor aimed two years ago to have a base of 50 sites in 2025.
