Laurent Emmanuelli, considered by the investigative services to be a figure in Corsican organized crime, was arrested this Saturday January 18, 2025 on territorial route 20 near Omessa in Central Corsica during a road check carried out by the Moltifao motorized brigade.

This information revealed by our colleagues from 3 Corse Via Stella was confirmed to Corse-Matin by the public prosecutor of the Republic of .

A judicial review not respected

As part of a judicial investigation carried out at the Bastia judicial court, Laurent Emmanuelli, 34, was the subject of a judicial control prohibiting him in particular from traveling to Corsica.

Consequently, he was then referred to the public prosecutor's office in Bastia. At the end of this presentation, the thirty-year-old was placed in pre-trial detention at the Borgo remand center pending the examination of his file by the judge of freedoms and detention (JLD).

Known to the justice services, Laurent Emmanuelli was the subject of an assassination attempt on May 13, 2019 in Pietralba. A young man, considered one of his close friends, Antoine Francisci, was killed. This case is being investigated by the specialized interregional jurisdiction (jirs) of which is in charge of cases relating to organized crime.

Five men are referred to the Bouches-du-Rhône Assize Court for murder and attempted murder or for related offenses.

Considered a victim in this case, Laurent Emmanuelli is however cited before the Marseille criminal court for non-reporting of a crime and modification of a crime scene. He denies the facts like the people referred to the assizes.
