“The Telethon is not just about money”

Enough to come back to the different events. The collection of five tonnes of used batteries in Belles-Forêts raised €1,250. In Lutzelbourg, the Lutz'trail association organized a 5 km walk and a (virtual) 330 km bike ride to Lutzelbürg in Bavaria. At the same time, a relay trail took place over 24 hours. “The Telethon is not just about money, it is also about challenges,” observes Gérald Brun. A common thread like that has been happening less lately. » These events raised €3,200. “We don't have too many benchmarks since it was a first, but obviously it's good! », smiles Agnès Adamo, one of the volunteers.

“A very good year”

If the final figures will only be known in a few weeks at the departmental level, Gérald Brun already notes an overall trend: “Almost all demonstrations in Moselle-Est are on the rise. People really responded. » This Saturday's fundraising shows that Moselle-Sud raised nearly €9,000. “It’s a very good year despite the economic situation,” appreciates Gérald Brun.

He explains this generosity by “confidence” in an event which will organize his 40e edition in 2026: “The Telethon is not running out of steam. »And to maintain the momentum, the general public can continue to make donations via the official Téléthon website (don.téléthon.fr).
