A car caught fire on the A43 this Sunday 19 January, around 15 h 30, near Bourgoin-Jallieu. It was probably the engine which ignited while the car was driving in the left lane of the highway, towards Lyon, shortly after exit 8 of Rivet. Bourgoin-Jallieu firefighters intervened to put out the fire and rescue the driver. The 25-year-old young woman was only slightly injured and taken to Bourgoin-Jallieu hospital.
The accident required two highway lanes to be neutralized. A traffic jam of several kilometers quickly formed.
