For the tenth consecutive year, the Ballan-Miré twinning committee, Rencontres et Confluences, is organizing a truffle market, which is being held this Sunday, as always, place du 11-Novembre (in front of the town hall), from 10 to 2 p.m.
A whole canvas village was installed on Saturday to shelter the truffle growers. If tuber melanosporum – the scientific name of the truffle – is rare, it seems, this year, it will be very present this Sunday on the market. Local producers also offer saffron, foie gras, Loire wines, mushrooms… You can also find catering on site, well sheltered. This year, croque-monsieur… with truffles, of course, are on offer. Mulled wine in moderation.
An induction by the Templerie des Fleure-Truffes et Gouste Foies Gras en Riches Lieux de Touraine is on the program around 11 a.m. Among the inductees, we expect some well-known faces.
