The Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Cheikh Tidiane Dièye, has just laid the stone for the new drilling and 39,000 social connections to strengthen the commune’s drinking water supply system. Thus, he carried out this launch this Saturday, January 18 in the Bouna Kane and Château d’eau neighborhoods in front of the populations. This is an opportunity taken by the minister to specify that the drinking water supply will be increased from 6,400 cubic meters/day to 10,000 cubic meters/day. To this, it must be added that social connections will provide relief to many vulnerable families.

In the process, with the completion of these drillings, the difficulties of accessing drinking water will be an old memory. Moreover, it will be a sigh of relief, underlines Madame Niang Baldé (badiene gox) who maintains that the health of the mother and child will improve. In the same vein, Alseyni Ba, first vice-president of the departmental council, did not fail to recall the importance of the availability of water. In this sense, he maintains that the dredging of the river is a priority and that he thinks that the minister will listen attentively to this concern.

It should be remembered that access to drinking water is 51% in urban areas in the region, which is why the supply must be increased.
