In 2024, the Dutch team Team Visma | Lease a Bike had launched its “Control Room”, a new way to analyze races and process data during competitions. L'UCI immediately opened an investigation and, shortly after, the van was banned from entering the Tour. The idea was to centralize in one place all the public data available during the races. On board, a data analyst and a team coach communicated with the sports director in the car behind the peloton, so that he could adapt his strategy to race situations in real time. Next season, the training of Jonas Vingegaard will continue to use the system, but almost exclusively from a fixed location.

“The Control Room bus will almost be absent next year”

One of the conclusions is that the added value of using a mobile bus is not very great. Therefore, the Control Room bus will be almost absent next year. But the project itself continues. We will create a dedicated space in our high performance center in Den Bosch. There we will have all the necessary technology, a good internet connection and we will be able to communicate with the sports directors' cars. “.
