A tragedy occurred this Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Bentenier, in the commune of Diass. The wall of a construction site during construction suddenly collapsed, causing the death of two workers and seriously injuring two others.
This tragic incident is believed to be linked to the violent gusts of wind that hit the region that day, making working conditions particularly dangerous.
Emergency services, quickly dispatched to the scene, did everything possible to extract the victims from the rubble. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, two lives could not be saved. The two injured workers were rushed to hospital where they are receiving intensive care.
An investigation was opened to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Authorities are investigating whether negligence, construction defects or safety violations contributed to the tragedy.
