The car, a Volkswagen T-Roc, left the road in a straight line, near the place called La France, on the RD 46, between Bas-en-Basset and Aurec-sur-Loire, around 8:15 p.m., Friday evening. The vehicle hit a tree with strong momentum.
Emergency services were immediately alerted. The 37-year-old man, living in Aurec-sur-Loire, could not be resuscitated. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The gendarmerie has opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of this fatal accident, the first of 2025 in Haute-Loire.
