Used to make jewelry for centuries, pearls are at the heart of an exhibition tracing their journey and success in the French capital.

From November 21 to June 1, 2025, the exhibition “, capital of the pearl” traces the history and evolution of this jewel. An artistic, commercial and human journey put forward by the School of Jewelry Arts, at the origin of this project.

The exhibition highlights nearly a century of history and intends to show to what extent both the fine pearl and the cultured pearl, which arrived in in the 1920s, were able to inspire not only Parisian jewelers, but also artists throughout the world. broad sense.

An ambitious project made possible thanks to the hundred pieces exhibited, coming from around twenty lenders, such as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Petit Palais, the heritage collections of the Maisons Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier and Fred, or still the Albion private collection.

After a gemmological introduction to the origins of the pearl, the exhibition traces the history of a jewelry passion for the pearl from the end of the 19th century to the present day. It can be discovered at the École des Arts Joailliers, at 16 bis boulevard Montmartre, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, from November 21, 2024 to June 1, 2025.
