It was enough to create controversy. After the victim of OGC Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) against Bastia in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France this Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Gym goalkeeper Marcin Bulka reacted violently in an Instagram publication.
He qualified the stadiums of Furiani of “stade de merde” before deleting his post. The club supports it in a press release.
A controversial publication on Instagram
After the round of 16 in the Coupe de France between OGC Nice and SC Bastia, Aiglons goalkeeper Marcin Bulka reacted to his victory in a post on Instagram. A post which did not please the Corsicans, since the Pole wrote: “Victory on this me*de stadium”, completed with “Issa Nissa!!!!”.
The player also voluntarily erased Moor's head inscribed on the logo of the Bastiais club, symbol of the island of beauty.
A reaction which immediately made Internet users react. Some have notably associated “shit stadium” with the Furiani disaster which left 18 dead when one of the stands collapsed in the middle of a Coupe de France match against Olympique de Marseille in 1992.
A few minutes later, Marcin Bulka deleted his message. He posted it as an ephemeral story.
-Marcin Bulka would be “victim of threats”
This Thursday evening, the OGC Nice club wanted to support its goalkeeper. In a press release, he indicated that he would be “the victim of numerous threats on social networks following his victory post Tuesday evening in Bastia on his Instagram account”.
This was directly motivated by the offensive remarks, particularly of a racist nature, from part of the public present in the stands against several of his teammates throughout the evening.
Le Gym also completes by assuring “that in no case did it want to fail in the memory of the victims of the Furiani tragedy. Upon reading this erroneous interpretation, he immediately deleted his publication.”
Bastia counterattacks in a press release
But that's not all, SC Bastia counterattacked this Thursday evening, criticizing the Nice club's position. “We can only deplore the rush to brandish accusations of racism without the slightest concrete proof. Such serious assertions cannot be advanced lightlybecause they unfairly tarnish the image of our club,” we can read in their press release.
The Bastiais are surprised that the goalkeeper did not express his dissatisfaction when he was in the stadium “faced with facts which he now describes as offensive remarks of a racist nature”. “On the other hand, he did not hesitate to incite hatred through a provocative publication on social networks after the meeting,” continues the island club.
He accuses the management of OGC Nice of excusing Marcin Bulka “but also of justifying the player’s behavior”. Before trying to calm the situation: “The club calls for more discernment in order to avoid sterile controversies which only fuel unnecessary tensions.”
