“I'm not afraid of going to high school. But I'm afraid of meeting them again in front and getting caught again.” It is with a splint on her wrist, under which a hand full of bruises is hidden, that Celia* testifies toOise News after being made brutally lynched at the end of classes.

The 17-year-old girl, a final year student at the private Catholic Saint-Vincent de Paul high school, in in Oise, was violently attacked a few steps from her school, by a gang of underage girls, on January 9.

Kicks in the head

Propelled to the ground, she wiped around thirty punches and kicksespecially in the head. Taken to Beauvais hospital for pain in her wrist and head, she escaped without any serious physical injury, but with two days of ITT and a badly damaged wrist.

A particularly shocking attack, filmed by a minor, also lending itself to the blows sent. The scene then circulated on social networksincluding Snapchat and Telegram.

Complaints have since been filed at the police station for violence in meetings and threats.

The video of my attack is still playing today. Since then, I've had trouble sleeping. The images of the attack still flash through my head.

Revenge after rape complaint

The reason for this outburst: a previous one rape complaint filed by the high school student at the gendarmerie Meru in November 2024. “They did not appreciate us filing a complaint and are putting pressure on us to withdraw it,” explains Christophe, the young girl’s father.

According to their testimony, the girls who can be seen being beaten on the video have a more or less close link with the alleged perpetrator of the rape, Célia's former boyfriend, also a minor. “Even if we withdrew our complaint, I think the violence would still continue,” complains the father.

It became relentless. I just want to protect my kid because it could have been much worse. Luckily she was able to protect her head.

She no longer goes to high school

In her misfortune, the high school student then recounts having been threatened by a gang of around ten people at the Beauvais bus station on January 13, a few days after his attack. Since then, out of fear, she no longer goes to high school. “She won’t be able to pass her diploma,” fears her father.

Despite filing complaints, “no one is moving,” he is furious. “What I want is for Justice to do its job. Let these girls calm down. I'm trying to see if my daughter can change high school…”

He is also afraid that the group will attack someone else. “The police must at least rounds upon leaving high school.

The school says it is doing “everything possible” to support him

Contacted by us, the director of the Saint-Vincent de Paul private Catholic high school, Ms. Legrand, confirms having spoken with the student and his family. “We took care of the young girl to welcome her back from this attack and support her as best we could.”

We are doing everything we can to support this student from a psychological and academic point of view (…). Students are made aware of bullying and cyberbullying in the establishment. Regarding the video, we reacted by informing the students in this student's class and telling them not to circulate it.

But then, how can we avoid such attacks near the high school in the future? “The establishment is open until 5:45 p.m. so that young people can wait inside for their transport, to avoid staying in town while remaining safe,” replies the director.

According to the head of the establishment, the perpetrators of the attacks are not educated in this high school. An investigation would have been opened. When requested, the Beauvais Public Prosecutor has, at this time, not yet responded to our questions.
