XALIMANEWS: (APS)-A study carried out at the Idrissa General Hospital Pouye (Hogip) of Grand-Yoff reveals that students and students are the most affected by trauma due to accidents caused by two wheels with a rate of 32 .6%.

This is a descriptive and single-center prospective analytical analysis over a period of six months, from January 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023 and carried out at Grand Yoff hospital.
It was presented at the scientific days of the Collective of Specialized Physicians (Comes), which are held from January 16 to 17 in Dakar.
According to the summary of the communications from these scientific days, the objective of this work was to study the epidemiological and diagnostic aspects of trauma from road traffic accidents among pedestrians involving a motorcyclist.
Road traffic accidents are the main theme of these scientific days. Low back pain, emerging diseases and mental health remain the sub-themes of these days which are being held from January 16 to 17 in Dakar.
-The study informs that during this period, 270 patients were interned at the Idrissa Pouye general hospital due to two-wheel accidents. “The predominant sex in our series is the male sex with 60.37%,” underlines the study.

”Accidents occurred most often between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. in 31.11%. Collision by direct impact was the most frequent mechanism (88.10%), notes the same source.
The study shows that “more than the majority of patients (84.80%) were brought by family or a third party. Fractures were the most common injuries at 40%.
