Fuel distributors in Morocco have increased prices effective from this Friday, January 17, 2025. The price of diesel increased by 20 cents to reach 11.50 dirhams per liter, while the price of gasoline is rose to 13.40 dirhams per liter, recording a similar increase.
This increase comes after a period of price stability since December 2024, but reflects regular fluctuations in the fuel market in Morocco. Since the liberalization of prices, distributors have adjusted their prices according to international trends, often communicated on the eve of changes.

-The current increase takes place in a context of tensions on the global oil market. The barrel of Brent exceeded $80 this week, reaching $81.11, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) climbed to $77.97, a level not seen since October 2024. These increases are linked to geopolitical sanctions , notably those imposed by the United States on Russian oil companies and their ships.
